Dear Jane,
Thanks so much for your terrific website. I am
tracing my Tilley ancestors and check the site frequently. My great
grandfather, Alfred Robert Tilley was born in Cottingham in 1845. In 1880,
he married Elizabeth Boon(born in Gretton) and had 6 sons.
The family was living in Middleton when they
emigrated to Canada in 1912. According to my research Alfred's parents
were William & Ann Tilley. In the 1881 census, I found William & Ann
living on Church St. By 1901 Ann was alone living on School Hill in
Middleton.
I would appreciate hearing from anyone who
could help me with my research.
