Dear Jane,
I was browsing for Tansleys and came across
your Cottingham History site for the first time. It is most interesting.
My husband, Allan, has collected census
information from 1841-1901 on Tansleys living in Cottingham or those who
were born there but had moved elsewhere, which, I'm sure he would be happy
to share with you.
None of it has been verified by him ie by
personally viewing the relevant census films, but he has been very
diligent in his recording.
He is a London Tansley, with no connection to
Cottingham, but is doing an unofficial Tansley one-name study.
