I have just found your
excellent web-site .I am related to Robert Perkins and Katherine who lived
in Cottingham in the 1590's.Most of the descendants were stonemasons who
seemed to migrate up and down the limestone belt.
I am particularly interested in
locating old quarries in and around Cottingham and information on
buildings that the family may have worked on. I would be pleased to
exchange any information

Hello Judy,
The Dale pocket park in
Cottingham (just up past the Church) used to be an ironstone quarry,
although I'm not sure when it was operational. One of the other
correspondents on the site, Bernard Perkins from Leamington Spa, is also
descended from Robert and Katherine Perkins. I'll put you in touch.
