Dear Jane,
From the information and the exchanges of
letters on your web site. I see there is a Nicola Patterson seeking
information about the Cannams and some details from Jan Cannam in New
Zealand.
I am Henry Stafford Arthur Cannam.
I can trace our immediate family tree from the
present day back to around 1790 through seven generations. My Grandfather
was Arthur Gould Cannam born in Stoke-on-Trent (born 1868 - died 1933)
Arthur had 3 brothers and 1 sister. The oldest brother was James William
born 1864 married in 1884 but went to South Africa with another woman!
We believe there was a son, Harry, by his
first marriage. My Great Grandfather was John Samuel (born 1834 died
1895). He lived in St Ives, Huntingdon. He married Alice Gould (born 1831)
in 1862. He had a brother Charles, Christopher (Born 1819) who died in
Australia in 1879.
Hope this information might be of use and I
would love to hear more from Nicola or Jan if they have information on our
family.
